What blessing is recited on garlic and leeks after they have been cooked?
Synopsis
All authorities agree cooked garlic and leeks receive Shehakol, because cooking them is considered a deterioration (nishtaneh li'geri'uta). The Rema adds this applies even when cooked with meat and thereby improved, since the improvement is due to the meat, not the garlic itself. The MB extends this ruling to onions.
