May a Jew sell a tallit with tzitzit to a non-Jew?

Synopsis

Selling a tallit with tzitzit to a non-Jew is forbidden for two reasons: (1) the non-Jew may use it to blend in and ambush a Jew on a road, and (2) he may give it to a prostitute as payment, creating the false impression a Jew patronized her. Contemporary authorities debate which reason still applies.
