Is it forbidden to study Torah before praying Shacharit?
Synopsis
The Mechaber forbids Torah study once prayer time arrives, but only for one who prays privately and does not go to synagogue (lest he become absorbed and miss the time). One who goes to synagogue is permitted. One who teaches others is permitted even without going to synagogue, since the merit of the community is great.
