Is a lulav whose leaves have hardened like wood (charot) valid?

SukkotFour Species

Synopsis

The Rema (following the Tur) rules that if leaves hardened like wood and cannot be attached to the spine, it is invalid. The Taz clarifies that if leaves have begun to harden but are not yet wood-like, it is called 'domeh l'charot' and is kosher even without binding.
