When should the morning blessing 'Al Netilat Yadayim' (on washing hands) be recited — immediately after washing at home, or delayed until arriving at synagogue?

Synopsis

Ashkenazic custom allows delaying Al Netilat Yadayim until synagogue to recite it together with all other morning blessings. Sephardic practice is to recite it immediately after washing. The conclusion of later authorities (Acharonim) is to follow Sephardic practice l'chatchila.
