How is the Shabbat boundary measured for a city that is wide on one end and narrow on the other?

ShabbatEruvin & Tehumin

Synopsis

A trapezoidal city is treated as if it were entirely as wide as its widest point. When measuring the teḥum on the narrow side, the measurement begins from where the widest dimension would be, effectively extending the narrow end to match the wide end.
