Does chok tochos (engraving from within, i.e., erasing to create a letter form) apply to correcting letters in STaM, and can erasing part of a letter to fix its form be valid?

Daily LifeSTaMLetter Formation

Synopsis

The prohibition of chok tochos—forming a letter by erasing/scraping away rather than by writing—applies in certain correction scenarios. Erasing a closed part of a letter to open it constitutes chok tochos and is invalid; however, scraping off ink that joined two letters does not, as no new letter form is being created.
