May a healthy person or non-critically ill person eat food cooked on Shabbat for a dangerously ill (choleh sheyesh bo sakana) patient?
Synopsis
The Mechaber prohibits a healthy person or non-dangerously-ill person from eating food cooked on Shabbat for a critically ill patient, out of concern the cook will make extra for the healthy. Raw meat from an animal slaughtered on Shabbat for the ill is permitted to a healthy person, since adding more would require a new slaughter. The Rema extends the prohibition even to food cooked by a non-Jew.
