May one recite the Mi SheBeirach blessing and pray for a dangerously ill person on Shabbat?
Synopsis
There is a dispute whether one may bless a critically ill person on Shabbat. The Mechaber (seif 10) and Aruch HaShulchan permit it for one in danger that day. The Magen Avraham, citing the Mahariv and Beit Chadash, restricts the full blessing to the dangerously ill and rules a modified formula ('Shabbat hi miliz'ok') for non-dangerous cases.
