When is the blessing on new clothing/vessels recited — at the time of acquisition or at the time of first use?
Synopsis
The Mechaber rules that the blessing is at the time of acquisition because the joy begins then. However, if the item requires tailoring or repair before use, the MB rules the blessing is delayed until use. The Taz extends the acquisition-time ruling even to items needing tailoring.
