Is Shehecheyanu recited on minor clothing items such as a shirt, shoes, or light slippers — and does it matter if the person is poor?
Synopsis
The Mechaber follows the Rosh: significance is relative to the person; a poor person rejoicing in a shirt must bless. The Rema rules that even a poor person does not bless on such items, and this is the accepted Ashkenazi custom.
