Synopsis
Raw rice (kossess) receives HaAdama/Borei Nefashot. Cooked or ground-into-bread rice receives Borei Minei Mezonot/Borei Nefashot — never Al HaMichya. The Rema clarifies that the rice must be mashed (not just cooked) for the mezonot blessing.
