When must a Kohen begin moving toward the platform (uproot his feet)?
Synopsis
The Mechaber rules that every Kohen in the synagogue must begin moving toward the platform when the chazzan begins Retzei. Even if the Kohen does not arrive on the platform until after the chazzan completes Retzei, this is fine. But if he did not uproot his feet during Retzei, he may no longer go up.
