May the shaliach tzibur interrupt between Geulah and Tefillah (or within Sh'ma and its blessings) to perform Poreis al Sh'ma for latecomers?
Synopsis
The Rema explicitly prohibits the shaliach tzibur from interrupting between Geulah and Tefillah — or within Sh'ma and its blessings — to do Poreis al Sh'ma for latecomers. However, in Ma'ariv (where the Amidah is optional/a custom), interruption is permitted. A separate individual (not the current shaliach tzibur) may always do a second service.
