May a chazzan who intentionally sinned and subsequently repented serve as chazzan?

PrayerShaliach Tzibur

Synopsis

The Rema rules that one who sinned unintentionally (shogeg) and repented may lead services, but one who sinned intentionally (meizid) may not, because a bad reputation precedes the repentance. The Biur Halacha and Aruch HaShulchan both analyze when repentance rehabilitates the reputation sufficiently.
