May one recite morning blessings for actions one did not personally perform that morning (e.g., never heard a rooster, did not put on shoes)?
Synopsis
The Mechaber rules that if one was not obligated in a particular blessing, one says it without God's Name. The Rema records the Ashkenazic practice to say all blessings regardless, since they pertain to God's creation of the world's needs, not merely one's personal actions. The Magen Avraham adds nuance for blind persons and those in the desert.
