What is the status of the 'ha-ma'avir sheina' blessing — is it one blessing or two, and what is its proper formulation?
Synopsis
The Mechaber establishes that 'ha-ma'avir sheina' and the 'yehi ratzon' paragraph form a single blessing ending with 'who bestows loving-kindness on His people Israel.' One does not answer Amen in the middle. The Aruch HaShulchan and Magen Avraham debate whether the 'yehi ratzon' should be in singular or plural form.
