What recourse is available if Passover arrives and a Jew still holds non-Jew chametz?

PesachChametz Laws

Synopsis

If a Jew transgressed and did not burn the non-Jew's chametz before Passover, the chametz is forbidden for benefit and may not be eaten. However, if the non-Jew returns after Passover, the chametz may be returned to him. Some authorities permit relying on sale and nullification as a post-facto remedy.
