How are projections (zizim) extending from the walls of a courtyard allocated between upper-story residents and courtyard residents when they have not made a joint eruv?

ShabbatEruvin

Synopsis

The Mechaber rules that wall projections are allocated by height: the lower 10 handbreadths belong to the courtyard residents, the upper 10 handbreadths (adjacent to the upper story) belong to the upper-story residents, and projections in the middle zone are forbidden to both unless a joint eruv is made.
