Is it permitted to clap hands, slap thighs, or dance on Shabbat?

ShabbatProhibited Activities

Synopsis

The Mechaber forbids clapping, slapping thighs, and dancing as rabbinic decrees lest one come to fix a musical instrument. The Rema notes that the common practice today is not to protest against those who do so, and cites an opinion that these are entirely permitted today because we are not proficient in making musical instruments.
