May one add liquid to mustard or crushed garlic on Shabbat?
Synopsis
A major dispute exists on whether one may add liquid to mustard or crushed garlic on Shabbat. The first opinion permits it (since kneading before Shabbat already occurred). The yesh omrim forbids adding liquid on Shabbat because it constitutes kneading. The Rema permits it with a shinui: putting food first then liquid, and mixing with a finger.
