May one trap domesticated animals and fowl that are in one's possession on Shabbat?

ShabbatTrapping (Tzad)

Synopsis

The Mechaber rules that domesticated animals and fowl in one's possession may be trapped provided they do not resist. If they resist, trapping is forbidden even in a yard. The Rema cites a view that trapping even non-resisting domesticated birds/animals in one's possession is forbidden (though exempt from a chatat). For cows and horses that have not rebelled, there is no trapping prohibition at all.
