May a Jew ask a non-Jew to carry an already-lit candle from one place to another on Shabbat?
Synopsis
Carrying a lit candle involves only a rabbinic prohibition (muktze). R' Tam and the Rema permit asking a non-Jew to carry it since the Jew could do it himself via tiltul min hatzad (indirect movement). The Mishnah Berurah limits this to Torah scholars and warns against oil lamps.
