What blessing does one recite on candied/preserved ginger (wet or dry)?

BlessingsGround Produce

Synopsis

The Mechaber rules ha'adamah on candied wet ginger, and extends this to dried ginger that has been candied (since it becomes edible through the process). Magen Avraham extends to roasted ginger eaten medicinally. The Biur Halacha disputes whether ground/pulverized ginger retains ha'adamah. The Mishnah Berurah upholds ha'adamah even for dried ginger that has been candied.
