What is the required distance one must maintain from foul water before reciting Shema or praying?
Synopsis
The Shulchan Aruch rules the distance is the same as from excrement: four amot in front and four amot to the rear from where the smell ends. There is a dispute in the Rishonim (Rambam vs. others) about whether this applies to foul water at all.
