Is it permitted to kindle a Hanukkah light from a non-sacred (ordinary) light?
Synopsis
The Mechaber prohibits kindling a Hanukkah light via a non-sacred light due to the appearance of diminishing the mitzvah light. Some lenient authorities permit this if there is no risk that the non-sacred light will extinguish before the Hanukkah light is kindled.
