When is spreading a sheet over or under s'chach permitted?
Synopsis
A sheet spread for decoration (within 4 tefachim of s'chach) is valid. Spread for sun protection or to catch falling leaves invalidates. There is debate about sheets that incidentally cause shade to exceed sun.
