If one has the custom of being strict and eating only what sustains the body during minor fasts, should they do so?

Those who customarily observe the three minor fasts with stringency as on Tisha B'Av should avoid meat and wine, eating only what sustains the body. Even those not obligated to fast should follow this practice if they have the custom.
