If one starts Yotzer Ohr but will not reach the Amidah with the congregation, should one begin Yotzer at all?
Synopsis
The Mishnah Berurah rules that if one will not reach the Amidah with the congregation even if beginning from Yotzer, one should not start Yotzer at all but rather pray the full order without the congregation, because s'michut geulah l'tefillah (connecting redemption to prayer) takes precedence over communal prayer.
