What level of libun is required for vessels used directly on fire (skewers, gridirons)?
Synopsis
The Mechaber requires full libun (sparks flying). The Rema records a lenient view that straw burning on the outside suffices, but the Ashkenazi practice follows full libun for items that require libun by law. The lighter libun suffices for items that only require hagalah but are given libun due to crevices or stringency.
