Synopsis

The Mechaber lists several categories of karmelit: places not used by the masses (sea, valley), the itztevanit/itztiba in front of public pillars (four wide, three to ten tall), a corner area adjacent to reshut ha-rabbim (with three walls and no partition on the fourth), a covered reshut ha-rabbim, and objects/pits four by four but not ten high/deep.
