May a mohel who has never circumcised before perform a circumcision on Shabbat?
Synopsis
A mohel who has never before performed a circumcision may not do so on Shabbat for the first time, due to concern that he may err and thereby desecrate Shabbat without fulfilling the mitzvah. Once he has performed at least one circumcision, he may circumcise on Shabbat even if he is the infant's father.
