May wine be applied to the eye on Shabbat?
Synopsis
Wine may not be put into the eye. It may be put on the eyelid only if the person does not open and close the eye (which would show therapeutic intent). Tasteless saliva is forbidden even on the eyelid since it is obviously medicinal.
