If a letter was written with a structural flaw from the start and the scribe continued writing, can he return and fix it?

Synopsis

Letters written with an invalid form that the scribe passed over are considered 'written out of order' if corrected afterward — they are invalid. Exceptions exist for certain types of flaws (letters that were still recognizable) where fixing after continuing is permitted.
