For a person fasting three consecutive days and nights, how and when should Havdalah be recited?
Synopsis
The Rema rules that one fasting three days and nights should hear Havdalah from others; if no one is available, one may make Havdalah while it is still Shabbat day, drink, and then accept the fast. The Aruch HaShulchan clarifies this does not apply to obligatory fasts (Yom Kippur/Tisha B'Av).
