What is the rule when a non-Jew lights a candle from a Jew's candle, or a Jew lights from a non-Jew's candle, regarding the Havdalah blessing?
Synopsis
The Mechaber rules that a non-Jew lighting from a Jew on Motzei Shabbat, or a Jew lighting from a non-Jew, permits the blessing. But a non-Jew lighting from a non-Jew does not permit the blessing. On Motzei Yom Kippur, a Jew lighting from a non-Jew's candle is invalid.
