Is it permitted to open a door facing a bonfire (medura) that is near the door, even in a normal wind?
Synopsis
Opening a door toward a nearby bonfire is prohibited even in a normal wind, because the wind intensifies the fire (hav'ara). Unlike a candle, a bonfire is large enough that even a normal wind will cause it to burn more strongly, so authorities prohibit it even as a rabbinic decree.
