Synopsis
One may not place bread in an oven close to nightfall unless enough time remains for the surface to crust (kerimат panim). The Mechaber requires the crust on the side touching the oven; the Rema adds that for pastries with filling both sides must crust and the interior must reach ma'achal ben Derusa'i.
