Synopsis
The Mechaber records the custom not to remove tefillin until after Kedushah of U'va LeTzion. On days with Torah reading, not until the Torah is returned to the ark. On Rosh Chodesh, tefillin are removed before Mussaf. The Rema addresses variant customs, and various Acharonim discuss the Rosh Chodesh removal time.
