Does one who tastes a cooked dish (to check if it needs salt or spices) need to recite a bracha?
Synopsis
The Mechaber presents two views: the first opinion holds no bracha is needed if the amount is less than a reviis even if swallowed; the second opinion holds that if swallowed, a bracha is required even on any amount, and only spitting out exempts from a bracha. The Rema rules that in cases of doubt regarding brachot, we are lenient (no bracha). The Magen Avraham disagrees and holds one must recite a bracha if swallowing.
