If one accidentally placed FOOD (not drink) in their mouth without a blessing and the food would not be repulsive if spat out, what must one do?

The Mechaber (seif 2) rules that if the food is not repulsive when spat out, one must spit it out and then recite the blessing, so that the mouth is empty at the time of the blessing.
